Bluebirds prefer bluebird houses in an open area with low grass and sparse foliage.
Bluebirds spot their food from above, so they prefer a clear view of the ground below.
Bluebird houses should be mounted roughly 5' above ground, providing protection from squirrels,
cats and other animals, and also assisting bluebirds in their search for food. For greater protection,
mount your bluebird house on an aluminum pole with a squirrel baffle.
